The Urology Physician role involves providing comprehensive urologic care independently in a fast-paced clinic and on-call setting, managing a wide range of procedures and patient consultations. The position requires board certification or eligibility, active licensure, and strong patient care and customer service skills. Coverage is temporary locum for a minimum of three months, supporting a busy department with embedded support staff and using Epic EMR.
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a bread-and-butter Urologist for temporary locum coverage (3 6 months) to support a busy clinic and call service. The role involves independent practice as the sole provider in a fast-paced department, managing a broad range of general urology cases in clinic, OR, and on call. The ideal candidate is a collegial team player with strong patient care and customer service skills.
Dates / ScheduleCoverage Period: March June (with July onward fully open); minimum 3 months required
March: 2 6, 9 13
April: 1 3, 6 10
May: 4 8
June: 1 5, 8 12
Ongoing: Weekly coverage available starting July; call schedule released 1 month in advance
Shifts:
Clinic: 8:00a 4:00p
Night Call: 5:00p 8:00a (not every shift)
24-Hour Call: 7:00a 7:00a (1:6)
Expectations: 5 6 days of call plus clinic minimum; ability to cover 80% of listed dates
Provide general urology care in clinic and on call
Perform common urologic procedures including cystoscopy, vasectomies, prostate biopsy, TURP, ureteroscopy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ESWL, Botox injections, uroflow/cuff studies, and bladder scans
Robot available onsite (robotic cases optional, not required)
Patient volume: clinic patients/day; surgeries/month
Call mix: 20% new consults, 80% callbacks (established ED patients)
Rounding responsibilities included; admissions supported by hospitalist team
EMR: Epic
Support staff: 2 RNs, MA, surgery scheduler, and 2 front office staff
Orientation provided prior to start date
Reason for coverage: open position with ongoing recruitment challenges
Board Certification: Board Certified in Urology (highly preferred) or truly Board Eligible (within 0 5 years of residency completion)
Licensure: Active WA license (highly preferred) or IMLC with LOQ in hand at submission
Certifications: BLS and DEA required; ACLS preferred (may obtain if selected)
Experience: Broad bread-and-butter urology skill set; ability to work independently as sole provider in a busy setting
Professional Attributes: Collegial, adaptable, strong patient/customer service skills, able to keep pace in a high-volume environment
Credentialing: Approx. 3-month process; clean malpractice history highly preferred; must meet strict credentialing deadlines
Other Requirements: Ability to detail availability/blackout dates through Feb 2026; complete submission packet required
