Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Physician in Interventional Radiology for an on-call, one-year assignment starting March 6, 2024. The position emphasizes responsiveness and quick action, with responsibilities including supervising trainees, answering staff inquiries, and providing patient care when called upon. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting hospital operations and patient outcomes, with flexible scheduling and a focus on quality service. Credentialing may take 2-3 months, and the assignment concludes on July 31, 2024, with potential extension through July 31, 2027.
Required Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) with specialized fellowship or residency in Interventional Radiology
- Board certification by the American Board of Radiologists
- Valid, unrestricted medical license in the United States or Canada
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of one year of recent, full-time practice experience in Interventional Radiology within the last three years
- Ability to respond swiftly to on-call notifications and treat patients within 30 minutes when required
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and professionalism
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience supervising trainees or participating in teaching activities
- Additional certifications relevant to radiology or emergency procedures
- Previous experience in hospital-based interventional radiology settings
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Completion of a dedicated fellowship in Interventional Radiology
- Previous on-call or emergency response experience in a hospital environment
Other Requirements:
- On-call availability for weekends or weekday evenings, covering 3-4 weeks per year for vacation support
- Willingness to carry a pager during scheduled on-call times with continuous availability during assigned periods
- Must possess a current, active medical license and be able to obtain necessary credentialing and security clearances prior to start date
- The position involves responding within specified timeframes, which requires reliable communication and transportation arrangements
