The Senior Controls Engineer designs, programs, and optimizes refrigeration control systems to ensure seamless product integration and improve troubleshooting accuracy. This role involves collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop and deploy control strategies, tools, and diagnostic processes. The engineer also provides technical support and training to enhance system reliability and customer satisfaction.
A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support the programming, deployment, and optimization of refrigeration control systems. This role is critical to ensuring seamless integration across products, improving troubleshooting accuracy, and supporting production, quality, and field teams.
Responsibilities
• Program, design, and clearly document refrigeration control systems, including proper operation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of refrigeration issues and alarms.
• Develop programs and tools to meet product and customer requirements using platforms such as:
• Engage with engineering teams to define and execute deployment strategies for introducing products into the field.
• Support deployment teams by developing processes that ensure seamless integration of products and controls.
• Assist in the development of tools and features used for customer system integration.
• Design troubleshooting decision trees for refrigeration systems and controls based on engineering application.
• Create structured test sequences to isolate root causes by systematically eliminating potential failure modes for each controls alarm.
• Independently develop controls strategies for refrigeration cases.
• Continuously improve testing sequences and alarm logic using field service feedback, usage data, and warranty data.
• Gather, define, document, and apply customer requirements related to controls strategy and system integration.
• Recommend controls programming alarm thresholds to improve alarm accuracy, relevance, and customer usability.
• Provide guidance, training, and technical support to Production and Quality Control teams.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or extensive hands-on experience with refrigeration controls systems.
• Strong programming and troubleshooting experience with refrigeration control platforms.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, deployment, production, and quality teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly document processes and train technical and non-technical teams.
