Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect potential eye diseases or abnormalities
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed
- Provide expert advice on proper eye care practices and recommend treatment plans
- Refer patients to Ophthalmologists as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record software
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies
- Utilize autorefractor and optomap technologies to expedite patient volume
- See mostly routine optometry cases, with more complex cases managed at nearby hospitals
Additional Information
- Proven experience in optometric services required
- Specialization or interest in optometry is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic health record software preferred
- Understanding of billing principles related to optometry
