An Anesthesiology Physician manages anesthesia care for diverse surgical cases, including obstetrics, orthopedics, thoracic, pediatrics, and outpatient procedures. The role involves performing blocks, inductions, supervising cases, and responding promptly to emergent situations with light call schedules. Documentation is paper-based, and typical work includes coverage for multiple operating rooms starting early mornings.
About the opportunity:
• Open to ongoing coverage or sporadic weeks and/or weekends!
• MDAs perform blocks, inductions, and handle emergent cases; supervise 80% of the time
• Average: 5 cases per day
• Light weeknight call (typically 1 night/week)
• Charting: Paper-based
• Typical day: 6 ORs + scope room; first cut at 0730
• Case types: OB (labor epidurals, call backs mainly OB), ortho, thoracic, some peds, rare vascular/trauma/critical care, heavy regional, outpatient cases
• 15-minute call response time
• No open hearts
