Job Details – Med/Surg Telemetry RN Assignment

• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare job)
• Setting: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Resource Pool, Float, ED Hold)
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks (with potential extension)
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve)
• Floating: Required between Med/Surg Telemetry units and ED Hold
• Orientation: 1 day (bi-weekly on Mondays)
• Dress Code: Navy blue & white scrubs (solid colors in any combination)

Compensation

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2100–$2250 per week (based on 36 hours per week)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Current AHA BLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required prior to start)
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Reliable personal or rental transportation (public transportation not available)
• Ability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Explanation required for all employment gaps over 90 days

Key Responsibilities – Med/Surg Telemetry RN

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults (ages 25-99) in Med/Surg Telemetry units, including Oncology, Orthopedics, and Urology
• Float as needed between R5, R6, R7, and ED Hold units
• Perform unit-specific procedures: IV insertions, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring
• Document all patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, and unit clerks to ensure optimal clinical support
• Adhere to hospital protocols, dress code, and safety guidelines
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing training as required
