The physician will be responsible for providing the necessary oversight and clinical services to successfully execute the Occupational Medicine program for the educational institution and laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a valid, unrestricted Iowa medical license.

Responsibilities:
• Provide medical consultation on work-related exposure risks and employee health concerns.
• Conduct medical examinations, including pre-employment, annual, and exit physicals, for employees exposed to workplace hazards.
• Oversee treatment of minor occupational injuries and illnesses, with referrals for significant cases to external medical providers.
• Identify and propose innovative approaches to enhance occupational health services.
• Collaborate with the educational institution and laboratory Environmental Health and Safety teams to implement medical surveillance programs.
• Develop and oversee participation in medical surveillance programs.
• Support affiliated research and safety programs.
• Serve as a liaison to private physicians for non-work-related medical conditions.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Supervise and collaborate with the Occupational Medicine Services team, including nurses and administrative staff.
• Other duties as assigned by the facility's administration.
