Position Overview: Specialties: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine Start Date: ASAP Contract Length: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only (No Call) Practice Details: Practice Setting: Outpatient Patients Per Shift: Up to 38 patients per 24-hour shift Bed Capacity in Department: 12 EMR System: Epic Admissions: Required Inpatient vs. Outpatient: Outpatient only; inpatient admissions are handled by a Hospitalist No Surgery Required: Focus on usual ED procedures such as intubation, chest tube insertion, conscious sedation, laceration repair, central line placement, suturing, I&D, dental blocks, foreign body removal, reductions, cardio conversion, codes, stroke, STEMI, pediatrics, and adults. Requirements: Board Certification: Required License: Active Arkansas license required Certifications: ACLS ATLS PALS Experience: Minimum board certification required; experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days Temporary Privileges: Not available Additional Information: Holidays Off: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, 4th of July Support Staff: Dedicated team including medical residents rotating through the ED starting July 2024 Responsibility: The ED physician will be the sole physician in the hospital often and always at night. They will respond to codes on medical-surgical units if necessary, though this is infrequent.
