The position is for a Board-Certified Electrophysiology Physician specializing in cardiac electrophysiology to provide inpatient and outpatient care including procedures such as ablations and device management in Sioux City, IA. The role includes supervision of advanced practice providers and use of telehealth, with a patient volume of 20-25 clinic visits daily and daily hospital rounds. This locum opportunity accepts board-eligible/new graduates and involves teaching responsibilities with use of EMR systems like Cerner Powerchart.

Start Date: As soon as credentialed! Schedule: Mon thru Fri; 8a-5p

Inpatient Responsibilities: Yes

Supervision of APP expected: Yes
Physician Nurse Ratio: 1:1
Ancillary Staff per Provider: 2:1
Exam Rooms per Provider: 5
Medical Imaging: Yes
Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
Clinic Provider Daily Volume: 20-25
Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: 10-20 cardiology patients
Appointment Length: 15 to 30 minutes appts
Demographics: Serving all of Siouxland and surrounding area Population is 100,000+
EMR: Cerner Powerchart
Teaching Opportunity: Internships and Preceptors
Job Responsibilities:
Clinic visits (new/established) Electrophysiology procedures, device monitoring (loopp, pacemakers, ICD) general call
In Clinic device transmissions and reprogramming
We have an EP PA who will assist with patient volumes.
On site and remote device transmissions
EP studies
ablations (afib, aflutter, svt, pvc, vt)
pacemaker/ICD/temp pacer/loop recorder insertions
gen changes
TEE
cardioversions
Requirements:
Board Certified - REQUIRED (can accept BE/New graduates)
Active IA License or Active IMLC (please upload LOQ) - REQUIRED
Fellowship Trained (Electrophysiology) - REQUIRED
