Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active MD or compact RN license and EKG rhythm interpretation skills.
Responsibilities
- Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Patient population includes large orthopedic cases (total joints), colorectal, vascular, and bariatric surgery patients
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Float required within the nurse's skillset
- Local candidates within 60 miles are considered
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Return staff must have a one-year gap from previous MedStar employment before returning as a traveler
- Online training modules must be completed prior to start and may require additional hours during orientation
- Holiday and every other weekend coverage are required
- All requested time off must be declared prior to submission and limited to 7 days during the 13-week contract, with no time off during the first two weeks
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Minimum of two years Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Two supervisor references from the past two years required
