Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, no call, and no holidays required
• 2 years of experience required with critical care experience preferred
• Must have Level I Trauma Center experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• May float within scope to PACU or PreOp units only
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Required skills: dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, care of ventilated patients
• Experience required with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Care for patients recovering from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries
• Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants
• Night shift staff must learn preoperative patient workup procedures
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• No more than 7 days RTO per 13-week contract

The PACU operates 24/7 with 38 patient bays and maintains an average daily census of 70-90 patients. This high-acuity recovery unit serves 80% of patients who require hospital admission after procedures. The facility provides comprehensive specialty support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams, with its own PCT/transport team for enhanced patient care coordination.
