Clinical Program Director Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred.
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.
- Current and active clinical licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist) in the state of Virginia.
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing clinical services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience working with adolescents in a residential or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and adolescent development.
- Proficient in clinical documentation, EMR systems, and compliance standards.
Clinical Program Director Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with Joint Commission accreditation and Department of Behavioral Health regulations.
- Certification or training in trauma-focused CBT, DBT, or other adolescent treatment modalities.
- Experience with family therapy and systems-based approaches.
Clinical Program Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support a multidisciplinary team of therapists, case managers, and behavioral staff.
- Oversee the development, implementation, execution, and evaluation of individualized treatment plans.
- Ensure clinical programming aligns with best practices in adolescent mental health and trauma-informed care.
- Conduct regular clinical supervision and staff performance evaluations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting bodies’ regulations, including documentation standards.
- Facilitate and participate in case conferences, family meetings, and staff training sessions.
- Review and approve treatment plans, discharge summaries, and timely clinical documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide clinical guidance during high-risk situations.
- Serve as a liaison with families, external providers, school personnel, and referral sources.
- Analyze clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in leadership team meetings and strategic planning.
