Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg night shift position requiring recent Epic and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Cardiovascular Medical-Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
- Night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Epic EMR experience required
- Unit follows Level 1 Trauma protocols
- Provides direct care to cardiovascular surgical patients, including implementing and modifying plans of care
- Adheres to hourly rounding, hospital, and unit-based competencies
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Proactively assists patients, families, and colleagues in a collaborative environment
- RTO not to exceed 7 days within a 13-week contract
- Contingent workers cannot remain on assignment for more than one year at a time and must take a six-month break before returning
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of recent nursing experience in a relevant setting
- Demonstrated experience with Epic charting
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
