Machinist -Pail

Join a sustainability-focused manufacturer and help craft precision parts for packaging solutions. Machinist role at Mauser Packaging Solutions; full-time, on-site in plant; permanent position; shifts likely day or rotating; hands-on set-up/operation of lathes, mills, grinders, shapers; read blueprints and use shop math. - High School diploma or GED - Proficiency with machinist hand tools and machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) - Ability to read blueprints and perform shop mathematics - Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, reach for long periods - Basic computer skills

Responsibilities:

• Carry through to completion the construction and repair of all kinds of metal parts, tools, machines, and attachments.
• Change layout and set-up of the various machines and mechanical equipment in the plant as directed by supervisor.
• Perform duties such as assembling, dismantling, moving, installing or repairing to blueprint specifications.
• Use all machinist hand tools skillfully; including scrapers, chisels, files and measuring instruments.
• Set-up and operate all machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and shapers.
• Possess knowledge of shop mathematics, use of charts and tables, knowledge of dimensions and uses of standard bolts, screws, threads and taper pins, and efficient planning of shop work.
• Must be familiar with the working properties of such metals as aluminum, brass, cast iron and various steels. Shape metal parts to precision dimensions within close tolerances as specified.
• Disassemble and assemble equipment as required.
• Grind machine tools as required. Make tools, fixtures, and various holding devices as required.
• Follow prepared sequence of operations in machining parts.
• Need the ability to read and write.
• Requires a basic technical knowledge sufficient to deal with complicated and mechanical problems requiring the use of complicated drawings and specifications and shop mathematics.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency in basic computer skills
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Bending, Squatting, Reaching, Walking, and Standing for long periods of time
• Working in hot or cold environments
• Working in fast-paced environments
