Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37207 (Tennessee healthcare jobs)
• Unit: 7th Floor, Trauma Med/Surg (34 beds)
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours/week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Support: Tech support on all shifts; unit secretary (7a-7p)
• Documentation System: Meditech EMR
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs (top and bottom)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530 - $1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in Tennessee)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong clinical skills: IV starts, wound care, surgical drain maintenance, nasogastric and chest tube management
• Ability to prioritize patient care, multitask, and provide compassionate, attentive nursing support

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to medical-surgical and trauma patients
• Conduct bedside shift reports and build strong relationships with patients and families
• Operate clinical equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile technology
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with healthcare techs and team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as needed, per rotation policy
