• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) – 6th Floor
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530 - $1640
• Number of Beds: 33
• Patient Ratios: 7:1 (nights)
• Staffing Support: 3 patient care techs per shift, unit secretary on days
• Documentation System: Meditech EMR
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required
• Floating: May float to other medical-surgical units or appropriate areas as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Proficient IV skills; experience with Kangaroo pumps and SCDs
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Meditech EMR
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and operate clinical equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, patient care techs, and other healthcare professionals
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and clinical support
• Float to other hospital units as needed to maintain hospital operations
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and unit guidelines
