The Locums Neonatology Physician will provide specialized neonatal care at a Level II Trauma Center NICU in Redding, CA, managing high-acuity newborns with 24-hour call responsibilities. The role requires expertise in advanced neonatal procedures such as ventilatory support, chest tube insertion, and TPN management. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine with relevant clinical experience and certifications.
We are seeking anexperienced Locums Neonatology Physician to provide high-level neonatal care ata Level II Trauma Center in Redding, CA. This role involves comprehensive NICUcoverage with 24-hour call responsibilities and management of high-acuitynewborns.
Compensation: $2500 Per Day
Position Details
- Setting: Level II Trauma Center / NICU
- Schedule: 24-hour call coverage
- Start: Ongoing coverage needs
- EMR: Cerner Care B
Required Clinical Skills& Procedures
- Ventilatory assistance, including ETT CPAP
- Nasal CPAP >4 hrs, >6 cm H O, or FiO >0.60
- Surfactant administration beyond initialdosing
- Administration of cardiac pressors
- Management of FiO >0.60
- Management of PaCO >50 on two ABGs 1 hourapart
- Peripheral arterial line or central lineplacement
- Chest tube insertion
- Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) management
- Exchange transfusions
- Care of infants
- Care of infants
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
- Active State Medical License (California preferred)
- BLS, NRP, and DEA required
- Prior NICU experience with high-acuity newborns strongly preferred
