Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night Flex Pool position in Hawaii, requiring a current HI RN license and flexibility to float between med-surg and step-down units.
Responsibilities
- Work within a hospital setting, floating between medical, surgical, and step-down units
- Adult med-surg and occasional step-down patient populations
- 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715, scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical unit 1:8 at night, Laulima (surgical) unit 1:6, Cardiovascular unit 1:4
- Possible float to Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular units as needed
- Meditech EMR is used; experience preferred
- Equipment commonly used includes pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the assignment start
- Plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before assignment to accommodate Employee Health onboarding
- Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs required at all times
- Unit and department-specific orientation provided
- May occasionally float to the Cardiovascular Unit as operationally needed
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in med-surg or step-down settings
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Additional preferred certifications include PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions are not accepted
