The Nephrology Physician provides comprehensive clinical care and consultation for patients with acute, chronic, and end-stage kidney diseases in various healthcare settings including outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth. Responsibilities include managing hemodialysis patients, conducting research, performance improvement activities, and staying current with medical developments in nephrology. Major Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Administrative activities, including performance improvement activities, research, and non-clinical tasks as assigned. Exhibits leadership in initializing changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and findings from research and studies. Stays informed on developments in the management and treatment of diseases and illness through continuing medical education
- Responsible for managing and overseeing hemodialysis patients.
- Responsible for completing telehealth visits, e-consults, as well as interfacility consults in appropriate the patient population.
- Responsible for providing consultation on various forms of nephrology disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the outpatient, inpatient and CLC settings
- Will practice the full scope of General Nephrology clinical care, to include comprehensive renal/nephrology services and procedures, functioning as an expert for patient care related to acute, chronic and end-stage kidney disease, fluid, electrolyte and acid-based disorders

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Work Schedule: Part Time Hours - TBD with Supervisor
