The Diesel Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related equipment, including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and component repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. The role requires hands-on skills, the ability to work physically demanding tasks, and a focus on long-term growth within a supportive team environment. Preferred qualifications include diesel technical training, ASE and DOT certifications, and a valid driver’s license, with shifts scheduled for 2nd shift Monday through Thursday.

• Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 12:30PM-11PM
• Position Type: Temp to Hire
Requirements and Qualifications:
1. 2+ years of experience working with diesel equipment.
2. Valid Class D license (Class A preferred but not required).
3. Reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record.
4. Tech school is a plus but not required.
5. DOT certification is a bonus.
6. Willing to learn and open to new challenges.
7. Not afraid of getting hands-on and dirty.
8. Team-oriented, adaptable, and curious.
9. Comfortable learning how to move semi-trailers (or already experienced).
10. Committed to long-term growth — many of our team members have been with us 10+ years.
Bonus Qualifications:
11. Commercial driver’s license.
12. ASE certifications.
13. MN DOT Inspector Certification.
14. Formal diesel or automotive tech training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Looking for a dependable, hands-on Diesel & Equipment Technician to join our team. If you take pride in quality work, aren’t afraid to get dirty, and enjoy tackling a wide mix of equipment, this is a great opportunity to grow with a solid, supportive team.
You’ll handle a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including:
General & Preventive Maintenance:
1. PM services and DOT inspections.
2. Diagnostics and troubleshooting.
3. Electrical and lighting systems.
Repairs & Component Work:
4. Wheel hubs, bearings, brakes (air, air disc, hydraulic, electric, surge).
5. Transmissions, steering, suspension, coupling systems.
6. HVAC, cooling, charging/starting, exhaust, drivelines, differentials, axles.
7. Fuel, DEF, air, and aftertreatment systems.
8. Hydraulic components and PTOs.
9. Roll-up doors, lift gates, flooring.
10. Basic fabrication and welding.
11. Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs and use large hand tools.
12. Ability to physically lift, bend, carry, stoop, crawl, bend and twist.
Engines & Power Systems:
13. Experience or familiarity with: Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Duramax, Powerstroke, and Allison transmissions.
You’ll work on a diverse fleet, including:
14. Pickups, cargo vans, box trucks, straight trucks.
15. Semi tractors and semi-trailers (including electric-brake trailers).
16. Heavy equipment: skid loaders (Bobcat, Avant, Dingo), chippers, stump grinders.
17. Concrete pumpers and dump trucks.
18. Auxiliary engines (Honda, Briggs & Stratton).
