Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Morganton, NC 28655 – Western North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Facility: Family Center – Labor & Delivery Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026, End: 4/6/2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
• Unit Features: 16 LDRP rooms, C-section suite & PACU, 4-bed Special Care Nursery
• Support Team: Preadmit nurse, discharge planner/case worker, maternity navigator, unit educator, lactation consultant
• Orientation: 16 hours of comprehensive onboarding

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (required at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (required for all L&D RN jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby nursing experience
• Ability to work night shifts in a highly specialized, closed unit
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care to laboring mothers and newborns in a specialized L&D hospital unit
• Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries; provide care in LDRP rooms
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure best practices and continuous improvement
• Participate in innovative maternal-child health programs such as Eat, Sleep, Console and validated prenatal screening tools
• Educate and support families through discharge planning and postpartum care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold hospital safety standards
