Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Massachusetts requiring a MA RN license, Tele experience, and willingness to float.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg unit with 20 to 34 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 1:6
- Patients require medical-surgical and telemetry care
- Personal scrubs of any color allowed
- Travelers must be willing to float to any Med/Surg unit
- Block scheduling is not offered
- Night, holiday, and weekend shifts may be required
- Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR is strongly preferred
- Travelers may be assigned to float between different Med/Surg units as needed
- Must be willing to work one major winter holiday and associated weekend coverage
- Personal time off requests are limited to a maximum of 5 days and must be submitted prior to consideration
- Personal scrubs can be worn in any color
- Holiday coverage is required for either Christmas or New Year's and the corresponding weekend
- First-time travelers may be considered if all requirements are met
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required in hand
- Tele experience is required
- Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly required
- Meditech Expanse EMR experience is strongly preferred
- Must have own vehicle for assignment
- Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
