Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a Missouri or compact license and trauma experience for a day shift role with significant on-call requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Operating Room setting
- Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 surgical cases
- Requires floating within scope to different departments, units, and facilities if needed
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
- On-call required: 9-12 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, including potential weekend assignments
- Block scheduling is not available
- Primary responsibilities include providing perioperative care for surgical patients and responding to trauma cases
- May be required to work weekends when on call
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed
- Pre-employment drug screening required; non-clearable results may result in a 6-month waiting period before reapplication
- Online modules must be completed prior to start and annually thereafter
- Team structure includes collaboration with surgical staff and surgeons
- Travel partners are not permitted for this position
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required; both Kansas and Missouri or compact licenses must be in hand for consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required, including trauma experience
- Must have at least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the last 12 months with no employment gaps over 90 days
- Two professional references required, one from a supervisor or above and one from a charge RN within the past year
- Pending license accepted for consideration
- Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
