Overview
The Retirement Plan Administrator at Pa Pension Planners is responsible for managing and administering corporate 401(k) plans to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of retirement plan regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate and complete records. Must have excellent communication, time management, and analytical skills to effectively support clients and collaborate with internal teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with clients on initial plan design to ensure alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain plan documents, including Summary Plan Descriptions for participants and beneficiaries.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with plan rules and federal regulations, including ERISA and IRS guidelines.
- Approve and process plan transactions, such as loans, distributions, and rollovers.
- Conduct annual discrimination testing (e.g., ADP/ACP, top-heavy) and support audit preparation.
- File required compliance documents, including Form 5500, Safe Harbor notices, and Form 1099-R.
- Coordinate with recordkeepers and custodians to ensure accurate and timely plan operations.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding plan features, compliance, and participant transactions.
- Track and reconcile plan contributions and ensure timely remittance and reporting.
- Assist with plan amendments and terminations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Support client onboarding and training for new plan sponsors or changes in plan design.
About You
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in retirement plan administration, with a focus on 401(k) plans.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and compliance reporting.
- Experience using Relius administration software to manage plan operations and documentation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Industry certification such as ASPPA preferred, along with some experience supervising or mentoring others.
