The Registered Nurse (RN) - OR Circulator is responsible for assessing patient health needs, providing nursing care, and coordinating with healthcare professionals in an operating room setting. The role requires systematic patient evaluation, nursing diagnosis, implementation of care interventions, and outcome evaluation. Candidates must hold a current nursing license, maintain Basic Life Support certification, and possess skills such as IV insertion, with a focus on maintaining high standards of professional practice.
Compensation
- $25.74-$42.03/hr depending on previous work experience.
- Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current practice standards, rules, regulations and policy.
- Evaluation and Discharge - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
- Professional Practice
- Maintains professional working relationship with physicians to facilitate excellent patient care.
- Assists in the maintenance of logs (patient/medication fridge, crash cart).
Education
- Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare field preferred
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
Qualifications
- IV insertion skills required.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
