The CT Technologist I operates CT scanning equipment under the supervision of radiologists to perform diagnostic examinations using ionizing radiation. This entry-level role supports students and new technologists and may require working varied shifts including weekends and holidays. Candidates must be certified and typically have less than one year of experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The CT Technologist I demonstrates knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the CT department. They operate a variety of CT equipment to perform CT exams according to established practices under the direction of a Radiologist, Supervisor, and Lead Technologists, utilizing ionizing radiation. The CT technologist I is expected to provide support to Radiography students, new technologists and other hospital personnel as needed. May be required to work a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call on a rotational basis.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology approved by CAHEA/JERCT. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
EXPERIENCE:
Less than one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist or CT Technologist.
