Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Illinois with a current IL license and BLS/ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
• Typical patient ratio is 1 RN to 6 patients
• Day shift with three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:45 to 19:15
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other units may be required
• Epic EMR is used and experience is preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must successfully pass an EKG strip test during orientation
• Vaccination exemptions must be submitted within 48 hours of acceptance
• Orientation modules are required prior to start and may take up to 3 hours
• Block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification is preferred
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
