Job DescriptionThe CVICU Nurse will be responsible for providing specialized care to cardiovascular patients in a critical care setting. This role requires floating between five designated hospitals based on patient care needs, ensuring high standards of patient safety and care quality.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
- Assist with open heart recovery and manage post-operative patients.
- Utilize advanced critical care technology, including balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella's, and ECMO.
- Perform charting tasks using the EPIC system.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CVICU.
- Experience with open heart recovery directly from the OR.
- Knowledge of balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella's, and ECMO is essential.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- NJ or Compact nursing license must be active and in hand at the time of submission.
