American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an inpatient rehab position requiring a WV or compact RN license and strong neuro-rehab skills.
Responsibilities- Inpatient rehab unit with 24 beds in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases
- Typical length of stay is around 2 weeks
- Interdisciplinary care team assigned to each patient including physiatrist, NP, therapists, RN, and social worker
- Therapy provided 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday
- Night shift, 3x12 hour schedule (7pm to 7am) with every other weekend required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 on nights
- Floating may be required within nursing scope
- Cerner charting system used; prior experience preferred
- Orientation held every other week on Thursday
- Provide comprehensive rehabilitation nursing care alongside an interdisciplinary team
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Block scheduling may be accommodated and can be discussed in the interview
- No call requirements for this role
- No restrictions on requested time off, but requests must be included with application and discussed in interview
- Royal blue/white scrubs required
- Parking is free for travelers in the parking garage
- Perm employees must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility (75-99 miles may be approved on a case-by-case basis)
- Active WV or compact RN license required; pending license acceptable for consideration but must be active to start
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- At least 1 year of acute care rehab or in-specialty experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with exemptions only for documented allergy
