Role Overview:
The Operating Room RN demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and providing patient care in the OR. As a key member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, ORTs, and other staff to ensure care meets State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure surgical supplies are prepared and cases run on schedule
Maintain effective communication with families and update physician preference cards
Scrub and assist surgeons during procedures
Supervise personnel delivering patient care in the OR
Uphold hospital and departmental policies and procedures
