Opportunity:

RN - Acute Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with scheduling from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend rotation with permanent staff
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• 2 years of experience required in specialty
• Must be able to handle high acuity, high turnover, and fast-paced environment
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• Experience with larger organization acuity required, no Critical Access Hospitals
• Care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis overflow, post-surgical patients, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric patients
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Use CPAP equipment and BiPAP for night shifts only
• Chart using MEDITECH 6.1 system
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs (top and bottom), White top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all white scrubs
• Strict attendance policy and 75-mile radius rule applies
• Primary care nursing model with focus on patient satisfaction and safety
• No artificial or shellac nails permitted due to CLABSI prevention
• Cancellation policy allows 12 hours every 2 weeks
• Float to all acute care and cardio units as needed
