Position OverviewThis role involves the effective screening, evaluation, and rehabilitation of patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. The selected candidate will develop appropriate plans of care in compliance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
- Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, maintaining comprehensive records as per regulatory standards.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services based on evaluations.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech disorders.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
- Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Document all required information in an electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
- Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided, following all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in mandatory meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
- Engage in required trainings and in-services.
- Acquire necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise and support Clinical Fellows or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Adhere to the ASHA code of conduct and state practice standards throughout professional practice.
- Active ASHA certification and state licensure in Missouri.
- At least one year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required; new graduates are welcome if they have Level II experience.
- Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings is essential.
Full-time position with an 8-hour day schedule from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours that must be consistently communicated.
