Overview:
Southeast Health, located in Dothan, AL, is seeking a dedicated Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate clinician to provide comprehensive cancer care within a state-of-the-art facility. We welcome applications from both experienced physicians and recent graduates for the 2025 graduation year, including those eligible for visa sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert outpatient and inpatient Hematology and Oncology care at Southeast Health.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including radiation oncologists, surgeons, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in shoulder-to-shoulder tumor board discussions, case reviews, and comprehensive cancer registry activities.
- Manage on-site infusion therapies and coordinate with radiation oncologists for patients requiring radiation treatment.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of the cancer program.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to individuals and their families throughout the treatment process.
- Participate in hospital rounds, clinics, and scheduled patient management activities during clinic hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Share call responsibilities on a rotating basis, approximately once every four days, ensuring seamless patient care coverage.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification or eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
- State medical license or the ability to obtain licensure in Alabama.
- Excellent clinical skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
