A Forensic Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and court testimony for patients in high-security inpatient mental health facilities. Responsibilities include medication management, reviewing use of restraints and seclusion, and participating in hospital peer reviews. The role requires collaboration with legal and medical teams to support involuntary commitment and fitness to proceed determinations.
Annashae is seeking a Full or Part-time Psychiatrist for a high-security inpatient mental health facility in a few locations in Illinois. Responsibilities will include documentation of reasons for medication changes, review of seclusion and restraints at least twice a month, and testifying in court regarding involuntary commitment, fitness to proceed, and other issues (as required).
Additional Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Meet at least monthly with patients to review their medication, explain reasons for the choice of medications and other issues (as required)
- Maintain awareness of the Department and Facility rules, policies and procedures as required
- Participate in hospital s peer review program

Requirements:
- Current Illinois Controlled Substance Certificate
- Current, full, and unrestricted Illinois Medical license
- Current DEA certificate
- Preferred- Forensic or Corrections experience
- Experience working with psychiatric patients
