Seeking a board-certified advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation. The position involves managing complex cases including cardiogenic shock and decompensated heart failure, with support from multidisciplinary teams using technologies like Impella and ECMO. The role is onsite in Fort Myers, Florida, with no weekend or on-call duties, focusing on clinical care and collaboration with regional transplant centers.

Ambulatory: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Inpatient: Monday-Friday, 8a-5pSetting: Inpatient & Outpatient (no call, no weekends, onsite only)Duration: Ongoing monthly support
Seeking a Heart Failure Cardiologist with advanced training in:
Advanced heart failure
Mechanical circulatory support
Heart transplantation
Integrated AHF cardiology & surgical program
Provides comprehensive care across full heart failure spectrum
No LVAD implant program currently
DutiesInpatient
Rounding on advanced HF, cardiogenic shock & decompensated HF patients
Typically 8-12 inpatients/day
APP support available most days (may vary due to PTO/CME)
Outpatient
Independent clinic care
15 patients per day average
Typical mix: advanced HF, stable chronic HF, device-supported patients
Outpatient support staff: MA, RN, customer service rep
No procedures required
Must be proficient in managing short-term mechanical support devices:
Impella
ECMO
Strong, multidisciplinary team
Excellent outcomes in advanced HF
Works closely with 4 regional transplant referral centers
Advanced surgical support (percutaneous/surgical Impella, ECMO)
No involvement in heart transplant procedures
BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant (ABIM)
Completion of an ACGME-accredited HF fellowship
Strong proficiency with Impella & ECMO
Preferred: 5+ years post-fellowship
Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with a large clinical team
Cerner
Inpatient APP (intermittent)
Outpatient MA, RN, clinic support staff
Timeframe: 60-90 days
