The position offers a chance to work in a hospital setting that provides full Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support during the day and call-in APP support at night for first assist as needed. Position Details: Position: Orthopedic Surgeon (Physician) Location: Near Flagstaff, AZ Schedule: ASAP - Ongoing Shift: 24-hour beeper call, 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM Block Schedules: No Call Coverage: 24-hour on-call shifts Patient Census: 1-3 daily Average Surgical Cases: 2 per day Practice Setting: Hospital, Level 4 trauma center Job Responsibilities: Procedures: Bread and Butter (B&B) orthopedic cases, no trauma required Support Staff: Full APP support during the day, call-in APP support at night Patient Population: Primarily adult, with an average of 6 new consults per day Special Procedures: Managing pelvic and acetabular fractures is preferred but not required; pediatric cases are also preferred but not required EMR: Experience with Cerner is preferred Requirements: Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (Required) State License: Arizona license required, but International Medical License Compact (IMLC) accepted Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) (Preferred) DEA: Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year in orthopedic surgery This locum tenens role offers a unique opportunity to work in a hospital setting near Flagstaff, AZ, with a focus on orthopedic surgery.
