The Perinatal Ultrasound Technologist performs specialized ultrasound diagnostic procedures in maternal fetal medicine independently, applying high-frequency ultrasonic waves to assist in prenatal diagnoses. This role requires national certification and proficiency with ultrasound technology and medical databases, supporting obstetric procedures such as CVS and amniocentesis. Description
The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of ultrasound principles. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for ultrasound diagnosis. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Required qualifications:
- Coursework/Training and Completion of education program that meets ARDMS prerequisite requirements for RDMS examination.
- Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Sonography upon hire: National Certification from American
- Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in assisting with the following OB procedures: chorionic villus sampling (CVS), Percutaneous Umbilical Blood Sampling (PUBS), and amniocentesis.
- Experience with electronic medical databases, like Epic.
