Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with high staffing ratios
• Care for mixed MS/Tele and intermediate patients including neuro, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients
• Assignments may be all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a mix depending on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Titrating cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring required
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Work every other weekend
• Floating required within facility
• No call requirements
• Holiday work required based on assignment period (1-2 holidays if they fall during assignment, 2 of 3 if three holidays fall during assignment)
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Use Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Full compliance required to start on time
• Skills include blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tubes, CVA care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, and titration of cardiac and insulin drips

This healthcare facility operates a progressive care unit (PCU) that serves as a stepdown unit with a mixed population of medical/surgical and stroke patients. The facility features a 36-bed unit with a daily census of 30 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation services. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes modern technology and equipment to support diverse medical needs.
