American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring a ND or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a 26-bed Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility (LTC/SNF) within an acute care setting
- Patient population includes residents with heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
- No IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitoring required
- Uses Matrix EMR system
- 12-hour rotating day/night shifts from 7-7
- Required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday
- No floating or on-call requirements
- RNs act as charge nurses, administer medications, and perform wound care
- No clinical involvement with acute inpatient rehab or telemetry
- Physician available after hours by phone only
- Work as part of a team including PT as needed and a social worker designee
- No pharmacy on site; medications are dispensed off-site
- Clean and presentable attire required (no specific scrub color)
- Unit-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts provided
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not have worked for CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity) in any capacity in the past year
- Requests for time off up to 7 days must be submitted up front; additional time off will not be approved
- Active ND or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration; pending license will not be accepted
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of LTC/skilled nursing facility nursing experience
- LTC-specific clinical skills including medication administration and wound care
- Professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and another supervisor or peer from the last 3 years
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
