Work where others come to play About Maui The island of Maui boasts numerous beaches, particularly along its west coast. Sun is abundant here, too, as the volcanoes in the center of the island block the majority of precipitation from ever reaching the island's leeward side. While portions of Maui's west coast are often dry and barren, the eastern portions of the island are lush and green, boasting numerous waterfalls in various valleys. ?GB-250
