The psychiatrist will lead the treatment team in managing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders within a 16-bed inpatient unit. The role requires board certification or eligibility and offers a full-time, Monday to Friday schedule with no on-call duties.
LOCUM - Physician - Psychiatrist Needed in Hartford, CT
Come work for a facility with a mission of providing quality behavioral healthcare to individuals in recovery. This is a hospital-level care community outpatient treatment, crisis support focused on mental health and substance use recovery.
This mental health center is looking for a contracted psychiatrist for the Inpatient Treatment Unit (ITU). Contracted physician would be a member of the medical staff and report directly to the Medical Director.
Psychiatrist functions as the clinical head of the unit's treatment team.
Team Staff: Program Director, nursing staff, social workers, substance abuse counselor, rehab, therapists and a psychologist. There is also a primary care physician who completes histories and evaluations, heads the treatment team meetings, reviews and signs the clients' treatment plans, writes physician orders, documents progress notes, and completes components of the discharge documentation.
Start: ASAP - Pending Credentialing
Full Time Shift: 8:00a - 4:00p, Mon - Fri (NO CALL)
Duration: 3 Months from projected start date with potential for extension
Inpatient: 16-Bed

Requirements:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible
- Experience as an attending psychiatrist working with an interdisciplinary team on an inpatient psychiatric unit, treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and experience with using Medication Assisted Treatments (MAT) for substance use disorders are preferred qualifications, but not required.
