Focus on Breast Surgery: Utilize your breast surgery expertise while performing a variety of procedures, including breast surgeries, cholecystectomies, and hernioplasties. Varied Schedule with Work-Life Balance: Maintain a manageable schedule with dedicated clinic hours (Wednesdays & Thursdays) for consultations and follow-up appointments. Focus on surgical procedures in the operating room (Mondays & Tuesdays) and participate in call coverage (schedule to be determined) to ensure patient needs are met outside of regular clinic hours. Fridays are designated for administrative tasks and catching up on charts. Seamless Technology Integration: Leverage your familiarity with EPIC, the electronic medical records system used at the practice. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive evaluations and consultations with adult and geriatric patients with breast conditions in the outpatient clinic setting. Perform a variety of breast surgery procedures in the operating room, ensuring high-quality patient care and optimal outcomes. Assist with other general surgical cases as needed, including cholecystectomies and hernioplasties. Collaborate effectively with the on-call team to manage patient care needs when the clinic is closed. Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the EPIC EMR system. Qualifications for Success: Current board certification in General Surgery is mandatory. Valid and active medical license in the state of South Carolina and a DEA registration are required (no exceptions). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary. A clean background check (medical and criminal) is essential. Extensive training and experience in breast surgery is highly preferred, with a fellowship strongly encouraged. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and staff. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial. Full-time availability is required.
