Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position with a focus on critical care and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-bed ICU within a hospital setting supporting cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical patients
• Care for patients in a stroke unit, level 2 trauma environment, and open heart program
• Patient ratio is typically 1:2
• Specialized procedures include EMCO stabilization, STEMI management, manual proning, sepsis protocols, IABP and CRRT usage
• Uses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience required
• Night shifts: 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• No on-call duties
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs and to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Responsibilities include caring for critically ill cardiac, neuro, trauma, and med surg patients with advanced equipment
• Support from UST and RRT teams available on the unit
• RTO (requested time off) of up to 5 days can be auto-approved
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Red tops with black bottoms are required for scrubs
• Free on-site parking is provided

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred
• Degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Cerner charting experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Current AHA or RQI certifications must be valid upon consideration
• Not accepting local candidates for ICU positions
• Former perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
