Job DescriptionThe CT Technologist will confirm patient identity and exam verification before initiating scans, ensuring adherence to department policies for patient safety. This role involves coordinating with physicians for diagnostic imaging, preparing patients for scans, explaining procedures for comfort, and inserting IVs when necessary. The technologist will position patients safely, maintain accurate patient records within EPIC, and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system. A clean and safe scanning facility must be maintained.
Responsibilities- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to scans.
- Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare and explain procedures to patients.
- Safely position patients, including those with limited mobility.
- Document all necessary components in EPIC.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting the position).
- Minimum of two years' experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience with Siemens and Philips equipment preferred.
- Injection certification preferred, must be willing to complete during orientation.
