The Warehouse Associate is responsible for coordinating daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure accurate and timely movement of products. The role involves inventory management, quality control, shipment preparation using FedEx and UPS software, and effective communication with team members and customers. The position requires attention to detail, physical ability to lift heavy items, and basic computer skills to maintain accurate records.
The Shipping / Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and cost-effective movement of products within our warehouse facility. This position is responsible for coordinating daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities while serving as the primary point of contact for shipping and warehouse-related matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all products are handled according to customer instructions and company specifications.
- Prepare shipments using FedEx and UPS shipping software to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed so products meet customer and company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including data entry and reporting, and assist with annual physical inventory counts.
- Prioritize daily workload, communicate urgent “hot list” items to team members, and develop recovery plans when issues arise.
- Optimize warehouse organization by consolidating storage space and maximizing capacity.
- Provide accurate inventory and history reports to customers as requested.
- Meet performance standards, goals, and objectives established by the Plant Manager.
- Consistently demonstrate a positive, professional attitude when interacting with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong reading, math, and basic computer skills, including data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work comfortably at heights.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience preferred.
- Prior data entry experience strongly preferred.
Materials, Products, and Quality Responsibility
This role is responsible for the accurate shipping, receiving, and warehousing of products. The Shipping / Warehouse Associate must ensure all materials are handled in accordance with company and customer specifications to maintain inventory integrity and customer satisfaction.
