Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Manchester, CT 06040 (Connecticut nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Family Birthing Center
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• End Date: February 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), block scheduling
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1860-$2000
• Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
• Scrubs: Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, EFM-C
• Experience with Meditech charting preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to provide clinical support for neonates and adults
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns in a Family Birthing Center
• Perform antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments and interventions
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency obstetric procedures
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC
• Administer medications including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and more
• Initiate and maintain IVs, central lines, and infusion pumps
• Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Educate and support parents on newborn care, car seat safety, and discharge planning
• Document patient care using Omnicell, MediTech, and GE Centricity systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
