This locum tenens position seeks a General Medicine Physician near Greenbelt, MD, to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans under a government contract. We are seeking a General Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity near Greenbelt, MD. This role focuses on performing Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans, supporting a government contract that provides essential services to those who have served.
This is a PRN position, meaning that work is scheduled on an as-needed basis, offering you flexibility. Providers with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine are encouraged to apply, especially those experienced with compensation and pension exams.
Responsibilities:- Conduct interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including:
- Range of motion testing
- Muscle strength testing
- METs testing for evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
- Perform one-time, non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments
- No prescribing or treatment involved
- Quick credentialing and onboarding to get you started promptly
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions is essential
- Use of a goniometer required for physical assessments
- Bring your own personal laptop (No Macbooks)
- Travel to perform exams at leased facilities or schedule exams within your own practice
- Option to work half-days (4 hours) or full-days (8 hours) based on availability
- Option to work on weekends if desired or needed
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
- Proficiency in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
- DMA certification available (CME credits provided); certification is required after onboarding
- Training provided for completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
