Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel Nursing)
• Location: Charlotte, NC (28203) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1680
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department Holds (Med/Surg/Telemetry)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/17/2026)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) – Registered Nurse jobs
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Stroke care experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Proficient in Med/Surg/Tele procedures: trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management), PCA pumps
• Medication gtt management (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF)
• Ability to float to other healthcare facilities within the Charlotte region
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in Emergency Department Holds (Med/Surg/Tele)
• Manage diverse patient populations: trauma, cardiac, respiratory, GI, mental health, and more
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes appropriately
• Perform and manage nursing procedures: trach care, chest tubes, drains, NGT, etc.
• Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and cardiac drips
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, RTs, hospitalists, intensivists)
• Float to other nursing units or facilities in the Charlotte, NC area as needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
