How you'll make an impact
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Licensing Specialist to assist in managing the individual insurance licensing process. The Licensing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations and maintaining accurate and up-to-date licensing records for our insurance agents, in partnership with our 3rd party licensing administrator. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Acting as the liaison and facilitator of all Divisional licensing needs, including vendor relationships; Supports M&A activity within both implementation and integration of licensing; Leading continual development and improvement to centralization of licensing information and Acts as key resource for licensing protocols. Provides licensing knowledge and assistance to our production teams, client service professionals and the surplus lines tax department.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the individual insurance licensing process for insurance agents, including initial licensing, renewals, and terminations. Working as a conduit with our 3rd party licensing Administrator.
- Managing decisions and recommending course of action based upon administrative actions against insurance licensees.
- Liaison with licensee on best actions to take while following Dept protocol
- Stay up-to-date with state insurance regulations and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
- Coordinate with insurance agents to gather necessary documentation and information for licensing applications.
- Monitor and track licensing renewals to ensure timely submission and compliance.
- Assist insurance agents with any licensing-related inquiries or issues.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure licensing records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in licensing regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to insurance agents on licensing requirements and processes.
- Assist with all integration processes with mergers and acquisitions
About You
Required
- Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3+ years of experience in insurance licensing or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of state insurance regulations and licensing requirements.
- Proficient in using licensing software and databases.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred
- Familiarity with insurance agency management systems is preferred.
- Experience in insurance licensing or a similar role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with insurance agency management systems is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulations and industry trends.
