• Full-time, day shifts, 10-hour shifts, four days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting, utilizing the nursing process.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care for surgical patients.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and patients to coordinate preoperative and postoperative care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document actions and patient responses accurately.
• Supervise and mentor LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in clinical responsibilities.
• Complete patient education, competency testing, and ensure adherence to protocols and standards of care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nursing License in New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of current cardiothoracic surgery experience.
• Prior successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Ability to scrub in surgical procedures.
• Strong team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with PALS and ACLS certifications.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
• Prior experience working within a cardiac or thoracic surgical environment.
